Inverted roundhouse kicks are definitely something that will take me a while…. My ankle/foot felt so flimsy on the bag tonight with those kicks.
Also tonight got punched and kicked in the wrist… the WRIST, yeah I’m sore and I haven’t even slept yet but I’ve come to love this feeling.
My right leg, which I’ve been babying all week and was finally feeling better… well not anymore. Feels like a hot knife is stabbing through my right thigh especially when I go up any stairs. This feeling I am not loving what so ever.
Haha, I’m not complaining really. Although I wish I knew what was going on with my right leg!!!
I like to get a good head start on my Christmas shopping.
I’m looking to Tumblr for a little help though!
My boyfriend and I will have:
- known each other a year
- dating for a year
- and one month away from being officially exclusive as a couple.
So I’m a little stuck on what I should get him and need ideas!
He’s a gamer, martial artist (tae kwon do and Kuhapdo), working towards becoming a police officer, just to name a couple of things.
So… any ideas tumblr?
I’m freaking out, at 11:30am tomorrow I take the MTEL reading subtest. I’m so nervous about it but the time is coming up that I will have to take it. I need it to get my license in Massachusetts as a school counselor.
The nerves are really beginning to set it. I should be in bed but I have to do my laundry so I can go to Taekwondo and to Maine with my boyfriend this weekend since I’m leaving tomorrow right after the test.
Tomorrow: MTEL, TKD, then off to Maine with my boyfriend until Sunday. At least I have two good things after the one stressful one.
Took my first good fall tonight at TaeKwonDo. I’m not feeling it yet, but I’m pretty proud of myself for landing and not hurting myself.
I was sparring one of the Black Belts in class, and he stepped on my sparring shoe as I went up for a kick and I just fell. We were both laughing from it. Sort of like “What the heck just happened, you just… FELL OVER!” “I think you stepped on my shoe, sir.”
My kicks are getting back to where they used to be, which is exciting.
I was battling dehydration all day though and then really had issues in class, but I’m okay now.
Tonight’s class was so good!
The same Black Belt that I was sparring with when I fell commented that I’ve gotten much better since the last time we sparred, which was definitely a confidence boost.
(Note: I’m referring just as Black Belt, not to disrespect, but because I don’t want to disclose their names on here.)
Also on a side note, last week when I was watching Testing, Master B said there is a good chance that by next testing he’ll be putting me on the list!
Yellow stripe, here I come!
Last night at Tae Kwon Do was a total success, but at the same time I think i may of pushed it too much.
I was pretty excited to have succeeded in doing 45 of 50 jumping jacks, whereas last week I could only do 30. Funny thing is, last night I performed on an injured foot.
Over the weekend I twisted my ankle during the mini vacation with my boyfriend, then walked on it all weekend. So, I had to miss Monday and Tuesday’s classes and went back on Thursday… I was feeling pretty good until I landed just right coming back from a roundhouse kick.
The pain was so intense, then I couldn’t stand on that foot at all. I’d made it through a good three quarters of the class too! So during slide kicks I took a break and sat out watching everyone else do it. Afterwards Master Britt came over and worked with me one on one doing blocks and turns, then we did some hand techniques on the bag.
Definitely an excellent class, and I’m so excited at how much I’m fitting in and everyone is so welcoming! They even invited me to go hiking this weekend, but alas, I have work :(
That’s okay though, going to the movies with a friend after work :)
It was just such an awesome class! I can’t wait to go back, and I ordered my sparring gear and got myself a gear bag.
Last week I started Taekwondo. It was a great three classes, then this weekend I hurt my ankle and I haven’t been able to go at all this weekend. I really hope that I can go tomorrow, it’s sort of frustrating. I mean I never thought I would find a workout that I liked so much. I miss it after only a week (well I did do it when I was younger, I did Karate) I even went outside and did a little today.
I can’t wait to go back to Tae Kwon Do tonight. I feel so good from it and going to go as much as I can during the summer, things will change in september though have to cut down to twice a week instead of three times but that’s okay :)
This will be something to remind myself as I start my Tae Kwon Do journey.
